Back Cover Reading:
Dré’s father had planned an unforgettable hunting trip for him as a graduation present. Little did they know how unforgettable it would become and what life-threatening dangers they would face. A terrifying near plane crash, a pack of menacing wolves, and a thunderous avalanche were just the beginning of their worst nightmare.

Danger surrounds them as they travel deep into the mountains with Mad Mike, their off-the-hook pilot and guide. This part of Alaska is known for its incredible beauty and untamed wilderness. There’s adventure around every corner for someone like Dré who’s lived his entire life on Kodiak Island off Alaska’s southern coast.

For years he’s dreamed of hunting a true monster, one of the biggest bears on earth—a Kodiak brown bear. A few years earlier, his dad had nearly been killed by one near Deadwood Lake. But as luck would have it, their bush plane was blown off course by a storm, depositing Dré and his dad in the very same bear’s backyard!

Can they survive the monster’s attack and take a trophy home? Will they even make it off the mountain alive to tell their amazing story? Or would the Kodiak bear defeat them once and for all?

A Gem!

Purchased this book for my avid outdoorsman grandsons, 11 and 13. Read it aloud together at our camp...they pleaded for “just one more chapter“ . Purchasing the rest of the series today.

Terror at Deadwood Lake

My 11yr old son couldn’t put this book down, for the first time in his young life a fiction book had him incredibly captivated! His words “Its nerve racking, exciting and just so intense, I loved everything about it!” He read Terror at Deadwood Lake in one evening. Now he’s ready to chew through the entire Hometown Hunter series.
